About
Aarohi started writing on the back of physics notebooks in Malviya Nagar and has not stopped since. Her sets move between Hindi and English mid-sentence, usually about her mother, always about leaving. She has opened three Poetriarchy nights and hosted two.
Work
Kitchen, 6 a.m.
Written pieceMy mother measures love in cups of rice. Too much, always. She says a house should smell of something before anyone is awake to notice. I left. I still wake at six. I still make too much rice.
Leaving, in two languages
Written pieceJaana hai — I have to go. Jaana hai — I have to know. Same two words. My whole life stuck between the meanings.
